BirdBit

Project Overview.

BirdBit is a mobile crypto wallet I designed to make blockchain accessible to everyday people. Most crypto wallets throw technical jargon and complicated charts at you right away, which can be really intimidating. I wanted to create something different—a "human-first" experience where you can store, send, receive, and earn crypto as easily as using your regular banking app.

I kept the interface clean and vibrant, prioritizing clarity above all else. It's perfect for beginners taking their first steps into crypto, but still powerful enough for enthusiasts who use it regularly.

Challenge.

Designing a crypto wallet isn’t just about security—it’s about trust and confidence.

  • Fear of irreversible mistakes (like sending to the wrong address)

  • Information overload from charts, tickers, and unclear fees

  • High onboarding friction (seed phrases, long setup steps)

  • Low visual trust in a space shaped by scams

Solution.

I addressed these challenges by streamlining the entire experience:

  • Clear dashboard: No clutter—you see your total balance and top assets the moment you open the app

  • Guided transactions: QR code scanning for quick payments, plus helpful prompts that guide you through double-checking details before sending

  • Plain language: I replaced jargon with everyday words. Instead of "Network Fees," you see a simple breakdown of the cost and timing

  • Modern fintech aesthetic: I used dark mode with bright accent colors (orange and green) to feel contemporary rather than "hacker-style"

  • Simple actions: Buying or swapping coins takes just a few taps—you don't need to understand how exchanges work behind the scenes
